What is it?

Disc golf is an exciting outdoor sport that’s easy to learn, inexpensive to play, and fun for all ages.

It’s similar to traditional golf — but instead of hitting a ball into a hole, you throw a disc (like a Frisbee) into a special basket.

The goal is simple: complete each hole in as few throws as possible.

How does it work?

A disc golf course usually has 9 or 18 “holes”, each with:

        • A tee area – where you make your first throw.
        • A fairway – the area you play through to reach the target.
        • A basket – the metal target you aim for.

There are no actual holes in the ground — instead, each “hole” ends with a basket with hanging chains, which catch the flying disc when you throw it in.

How is One Hole Played?

Let’s walk through a single hole step by step:

  1. Start at the Tee Pad
You begin by standing on a marked area called the tee pad. You throw your disc toward the basket — just like a golf drive.

  2. Advance Toward the Basket
Wherever your disc lands, that’s where your next throw starts. You continue throwing from where the disc lies until you reach the basket.

  3. Use the Right Disc
Just like golf clubs, there are different discs for different throws:
          • Drivers for long-distance throws
          • Mid-range discs for medium throws
          • Putters for short, accurate throws near the basket
But you can also play with only one disc.

  4. Finish the Hole
The hole ends when your disc comes to rest in the basket or the chains. Count your total throws — that’s your score for the hole.

Disc golf is growing fast worldwide — and for good reason. It’s a relaxing way to get outdoors, stay active, and challenge yourself in a fun new way.
